Send UUID() from a hidden field in Add?

Talk about any other operations you need to implement: additions, updates etc.

Send UUID() from a hidden field in Add?

Postby Crooksey » Mar 24th, '12, 11:49

Hi,
I'm trying to send UUID() as part of the INSERT statement from the add mode. I don't currently have a trigger in my mysql database but I guess that's the other way to go. I've given the field the correct default value but obviously when I send it it gets sent as 'UUID()' as opposed to UUID() which obviously doesn't insert the ID appropriately.

Is it just a case of trying a different field data type? I've tried numeric and integer in the hope that they wouldn't put the ' marks around the default entry.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks
