HOW TO turn on SEO links feature?

Postby administrator » Jun 26th, '12, 07:12

To turn on SEO links feature simply go to General -> General Settings and change SEOP URLs to Yes.

If you run this script on IIS, you have to allow rewrite mode for Windows.
To do this, open the httpd.conf file and uncomment the following lines (remove the trailing #s):

Code: Select all

#LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so
#AddModule mod_rewrite.c

If you're running this script on Apache with a web hosting company you have mod_rewrite already enabled in most of cases.
How to enable mod_rewrite on your localhost you may read here: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/current/rewrite/

HINT:
If you have a problems with running SEO links feature or it doesn't work for you, try to add following to your .htaccess file:

Code: Select all

Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /myapPHPdirectory/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d

IMPORTANT:
Even if you turn On using of SEO link, the system still proceeds to accept and handle as expected anchors.
Ex.:

Code: Select all

http://domain.com/pages/12/Installation-of-Site.html#Step_5._Running_install_file.

will be handled as expected and page will jump to the define anchor.
